The Franchise Alliance Advisory Board was formed to bring in a wide range of franchise industry professionals to contribute to the overall success of our organization and we are proud to be associated with them. These seasoned franchise professionals have committed to contribute to the excellence of The Franchise Alliance and our brokers.

The purpose of our Advisory Board is to leverage the truly great talent that makes up The Franchise Alliance. All of our Advisory Board members have a minimum of 10 years in franchising and all have committed to providing our group with their franchise specific knowledge and resources. We value their input and will continue to tap into their expertise to keep our entire organization — our brokers, our franchise partners, and our clients — on the cutting edge.

Lisa Biase

Lisa Biase

Lisa Biase has been practicing law for over 20 years and possesses an expertise in franchise law. In 1996, Lisa was an attorney for Amerada Hess Corporation and was responsible for commencing and developing Hess’ franchised branded fast-food program in Hess’ convenience stores along the East Coast. Starting in 2003, Lisa served as Vice President – Legal for Cendant Corporation, then the world’s largest franchisor. At Cendant, she was Vice President of one of its subsidiaries, Resort Condominiums International (also known as “RCI”) was responsible for all legal aspects of the RCI Network Franchise System. Thereafter, she held dual positions of General Counsel and Vice President at another Cendant subsidiary, Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation. In these latter roles, Lisa was responsible for all of the franchise and legal matters of two of Cendant’s flagship real estate brands, Coldwell Banker® and Coldwell Banker Commercial®. It is precisely because of Lisa’s high-level roles within these companies, that she possesses invaluable knowledge and experience in dealing with franchise matters.

In January 2008, Lisa opened the Law Offices of Lisa A. Biase, P.C., which focuses primarily on franchise law. The firm routinely files registrations and renewals on behalf of franchisors and advises such clients on all aspects of operating a franchise system. Also, the firm represents franchisees in purchasing franchises whether they are multi-unit arrangements or single unit operations, and advises such clients on owning and operating a franchise. While the firm uses best efforts in attempting to resolve any conflicts between franchisors and franchisees, the firm engages in franchise litigation should amicable efforts prove unsuccessful.

Rick Shampaine

Rick Shampaine

Rick Shampaine has been active in franchise development since 1984, consulting to several dozen franchise companies in such diverse industries as travel, home services, food, and consumer products. To date, he has assisted more than 800 families in becoming owners of their own businesses. He operated the FranNet Franchise Broker office for the West Coast of Florida from 2000 to 2008, and was, for five years, Vice President for FranNet, supervising the selection of its inventory of franchise companies. Prior to that, Rick ran franchise development programs for four franchisors over a period of 17 years. Additionally, he has helped create a handful of franchise companies.

He currently operates as Franchise Development Director for Big Frog Custom T-Shirts, Inc., a franchise based in Tampa that he helped to create, as well as Managing Member of Shampaine-Bish, a franchise development outsource organization.

Ed Teixeira

Ed Teixeira

Ed Teixeira is the founder and President of FranchiseKnowHow, which operates a website and publishes newsletters for franchisees and franchisors. Ed has worked in the franchise industry for over thirty years. He has served as a corporate executive for firms in the retail, manufacturing, healthcare and technology industries.

Over the course of his career Ed has been directly involved with over 1,000 franchise locations and has transacted international franchising in Europe, Asia and South America.

Ed is the author of Franchising From The Inside Out. His articles and interviews have appeared in numerous publications and media. He has spoken to various groups at a number of venues including: the International Franchise Association, the International Franchise Expo and the Chinese Franchise Association in Shanghai, China. Don Johnson

In his 20th year in business, having owned and sold two successful businesses, Don has been involved in franchising for over 10 years as a principal of Diamond Financial Services (Franchise Funding). Diamond Financial Services specializes in SBA lending for small and medium-sized businesses. Co-Host of “Franchise Interviews” National Radio Show and owner of several industry websites, including GoFranchise.com, Don is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and is considered an expert in franchising. He is married, has 2 children and resides in central New Jersey.

Rob Bond

Rob Bond

Rob Bond is a leading national authority on the exceedingly complex franchise industry. As the founder and president of Source Book Publications and the World Franchising Network, located in Oakland, California, his sole focus for the past 20 years has been the dissemination of timely and in-depth information on franchising through books, websites and databases. The World Franchising Network maintains 12 websites on franchising (including WorldFranchising.com) and publishes five annual books on franchising, including Bond’s Franchise Guide, considered by many to be the “industry bible.

Recognizing the need for a national forum to address the under-representation of minorities in the U.S. franchising community and the need to support our military veterans, Rob created the National Minority Franchising Initiative and the Franchises For Veterans Program.

Since receiving his MBA from Stanford Business School, Bond has built an extraordinary record of achievements in several Fortune 100 companies, real estate development and consulting. As an author, lecturer and consultant, he is regarded as one of the franchise industry’s most knowledgeable and widely-quoted spokespersons.

Don Daszkowski

Don Daszkowski

Don Daszkowski, Founder and Former President and CEO of Business Mart, Inc. has owned and operated many of his own businesses for the last 15 years. He has successfully started and sold 5 of his own businesses. BusinessMart.com, which Don founded in 2006 had become the fastest growing business for sale and franchise search engine and was later acquired by a public traded company in 2009.

Don started his first small business in his freshman year of college. Since then, he has worked at many top marketing agencies in New York City servicing Fortune 500 Companies such as Sony, Dell, Procter & Gamble and many others. Don left the corporate world and took his marketing skills and experience to start his own successful businesses. Don brings his corporate marketing experience, his natural entrepreneurial drive and expert negotiating skills to guide potential business owners in the right direction and to help keep the Franchise Alliance the leader in the franchise consulting industry.

Frank Agin

Frank Agin

Frank Agin is the founder and president of AmSpirit Business Connections, an organization that empowers entrepreneurs, sales representatives and professionals to become more successful through networking.

In addition, he consults with companies and individuals in various industries to help them become more effective with their networking efforts, business relationship management and use of social media.

Frank started his career as an attorney and tax consultant. For over ten years in private practice, he focused on emerging businesses. In this role, he helped franchisors and franchisees (among other businesses) through various business and legal challenges.

He grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and has an undergraduate degree from Beloit College (in Wisconsin). He received a law degree and an MBA from the Ohio State University and earned his CPA.

Finally, Frank has written dozens of articles on professional networking and has given numerous presentations across the country on the topic. He is the author of a book entitled “Foundational Networking: Creating Know, Like & Trust For A Lifetime of Extraordinary Success”, which is the culmination of his life experiences, observations and research as it relates to professional networking.

He is also the co-author of “LinkedWorking: Generating Success of the World’s Largest Professional Networking Website”, which is one of the first books to set forth a strategy for being successful with social media websites. And he is the co-author of “The Champion: Finding The Most Valuable Person In Your Network.”

Mona Janes

Mona has been active in the Finance Industry for 30 years. As Vice President of Client Services for Tenet Financial Group, Mona’s responsibility is to educate clients on all funding options in today’s credit market. Her knowledge and expertise within the financial services industry has allowed her the ability to assist many clients to successfully utilizing their retirement funds (401K, IRA), etc., to capitalize their new or existing business.

Mona has an extensive background within the Equipment Leasing, as well. She has trained hundreds of entrepreneurs who have entered into the Equipment Leasing industry. She has also assisted several companies to set up educational training programs.

Prior to her current position at Tenet Financial Group, She was the Executive Vice President of Wildwood financial Group, LTD. For 23 years, Wildwood Financial Group was one of the most respected and well-known educational Equipment Lease training companies in the US.

Along the way, she has also earned the prestigious CLP certification (Certified Leasing Professional). With only 280 active CLP’s in the country, she is one of only a very few women to receive this level of professional accomplishment. Mona has also been featured in the CLP Foundation SpotLight.

She had held positions such as Credit Manager, Collection Manager, documentation Supervisor, Sales Manager, as well as Executive Vice President of Sales.

Pamela Currie

Pamela Currie

Pamela has acquired over 20 years of combined business experience in franchising, professional training and sales. Prior to founding Franchise Intellect, Inc. and becoming a Franchise Consultant / Training & Development Coach, Pamela was a Corporate Sales Manager and a Senior Training Consultant for ADP where she sold “Software as a Service” (SaaS) solutions and facilitated courses on effective selling and business skills.

Pamela also worked as an Operating Partner for a franchise consulting firm and was involved with the growth strategy of independent businesses to a franchise system, including franchise marketing and sales, franchise communication, review of UFOC, Discovery Days, legal and general business operations. A key area of focus for Pamela was sales, development of training programs & operation manuals and managing business alliances, including a franchise broker channel for lead generation.

Pamela’s range of experience in traditional Corporate America and in the Franchise World, also includes being a Director of a Communications Training Program with Gartner and a Performance Manager at ExecuTrain. Her passion for business coaching, training and franchise system support was fully realized during her time at ExecuTrain where she developed and improved company sales processes, designed best practice tools, conducted performance training and business consulting for ExecuTrain’s franchise network of 225 locations in 25+ countries.

Pamela has acquired business acumen from multiple perspectives of the franchising business model such as franchisee employee, franchisor business & training support, franchisor launch & development, a broker perspective and more. Pamela now provides franchise broker services and training services through her company, Franchise Intellect, Inc. and operates as the National Training Director for Franchise Alliance, Inc. for new Franchise Alliance affiliates.
